Napomuceno's Will (film)

Napomuceno's Will theatrically as O Testamento do Senhor Napumoceno, is a 1997 Cape Verdean drama film directed by Francisco Manso and co-produced by director himself with António Gonçalo.[1] The film is based on the novel The Last Will and Testament of Senhor da Silva Araújo wrote by Germano Almeida.[2][3]

The film consists with a large and ensemble cast where Nelson Xavier played the lead role as 'Napumoceno'.[4] The supportive roles are played by Maria Ceiça, Chico Díaz, Zezé Motta and Francisco de Assis. The film had its premier on 3 April 1998 in Portugal where the film received critical acclaim and later screened at several international film festivals including: Festival de Gramado, Mar del Plata International Film Festival and Singapore European Union Film Festival.
