Morè (clan)

The More are a Maratha clan.The clan can also be found in Mahar caste [1]

History

The More clan ruled the valley of Jawali, in Satara district near present-day Mahabaleshwar, as a feudatory of the Adilshahi. In 1656, under controversial circumstances, Shivaji, the founder of Maratha empire, killed the ruler Chandrarao Morè, and seized the valley.[2][3]
