Mladen Vulić
Mladen Vulić (born 1 September 1969) is a Croatian actor.[1] An acclaimed actor of the stage and screen,[2][3][4] Vulić is known for his devoted approach to his roles and hard-working style of method acting.[5][6]

He starred in the critically and commercially successful releases of How the War Started on My Island (1996), Horseman (2003), A Wonderful Night in Split (2004), Will Not End Here (2008) and The Priest's Children (2013). He is further known for his celebrated acting work in the Gavella Drama Theatre and the National Theatre in Zagreb.[7][8]
Biography
A native of Vinkovci, he pursued acting and music in his youth. He was the first vocalist of the Županja-based rock band Opća Opasnost.[9] After he moved to Zagreb, Vulić was replaced by current frontman Pero Galić.[10] In 1997, he graduated from the Academy of Dramatic Art, University of Zagreb, where he returned later in his career as a guest professor.[11][12]
He appeared in over forty films, including roles as a supporting actor in How the War Started on My Island (1996), The Three Men of Melita Žganjer (1998), Is It Clear, My Friend? (2000), The Priest's Children (2013) and leading roles in Horseman (2003), A Wonderful Night in Split (2004), Pušća Bistra (2005), Will Not End Here (2008) and Gizdavica (2020).
He worked with Fadil Hadžić for the 2005 film First Class Thieves, starring with Gavella alum Franjo Dijak. While the comedy screened at the Pula Film Festival received mixed reviews, Dijak and Vulić were praised for their performances.[13][14]
On stage, he is best-known performances are in the Gavella Theatre, including Alma Problem, King Lear, Iphigenia in Tauris, As You Like It and Ivona. He also prominently performed in the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb, the Croatian National Theatre in Osijek, the Ulysses Theatre, the ITD Theatre, the Knapp Theatre, the Žar Ptica theatre and [15][16] Starring with Matija Prskalo, for his role in the Knap Theatre's production of Bez trećeg, Vulić won a Croatian Theatre Award.[17]
He is also known for his starring roles on television, including the series Balkan Inc. (2006), Larin izbor (2011–2013), Čista ljubav (2017–2018) and Na granici (2018-present).[18][19] Vulić voiced Seymour in the Croatian dub of Happy Feet (2006) and the Spirit of the West in the Croatian dub of Rango (2011).[20][21]
