Mire Hagi Farah Mohamed
Dr. Mire Hagi Farah Yusuf (Somali: Mire Xaaji Faarax Yuusuf) (1962 – 12 October 2006) was a Somali politician. He was born in Qandala, and educated at Somali Polytechnical School, Mogadisho, and in the USA, where he studied economics and political science. He returned to Somalia to serve his country, and was nominated to be Mayor of Kismayo in early 1996, a position which he served in until 2000. He married and soon had two children. He was among the delegates that participated in the Somali peace conference in Arta, Djibouti, and became a member of the newly formed Somalian cabinet. He served as Minister of State for Fishing and Sea resources. In 2004, he again became a member of the transitional government's parliament and cabinet, and he was the Finance Minister in Somalia's federal government. It states that mire hagi farah was one of the majeerteen sultanates which now till this date majeerteen is a region.
