MinNature

MinNature is a permanent model railway exhibition, mainly produced with 3D printing in Subang Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia.[1] The exhibition, spanning 17,000 sq ft,[2] is the first of its kind to be opened in Malaysia.

The exhibition typically showcases the culture and lifestyle of the people of Malaysia,[3][4] but also displays many exhibits that represent other parts of the world. The majority of the buildings and structures are designed and fabricated in-house using 3D design and 3D printing technology.[5][4][6] In January 2017, there were over 2,500 feet of railway tracks running along the 7,744 sq ft of modeling area.

MinNature Malaysia also has a workshop to let visitors have a chance to try to do miniature modelling such as a house, a tree and even more depending on one's creativity.

The exhibition intended to launch its second phase by the second half of 2017, which was to include a train depot, an airport and the Petronas Twin Tower.[7]

History

The 3D design and 3D print works started in June 2014 and it took over 2 years to completely fabricate all of the models for the first phase. The in situ construction and assembly started mid-March 2016 and was completed in November 2016.[7]
