History
Mentor Civic Arena was opened in 1982 and originally only had one rink. In 1997, a second rink was added to the facility, and the arena began hosting more major events as a result.[2]
On July 23, 2018, the Federal Hockey League announced that they would expand to Mentor with the Mentor Ice Breakers to play out of the Mentor Civic Arena.[3] This marked the first time that the arena would be home to professional hockey. The team ceased operations during the COVID-19 pandemic.[4]
