Matthew Owies debuted for Carlton on 8 September 2020 against the Sydney Swans at Metricon Stadium.
A former basketballer, Owies played for the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors in 2016-17 before transferring to Seattle Redhawks where he was redshirted and didn't play.[2]
