Recchia was born in Argentina in 1981 and raised in Venezuela.[1] He had an interest in business as a child and graduated high school at age 15.[1] Recchia attended Universidad Metropolitana and London School of Economics.[2] Then he worked at Procter & Gamble for two years[3] before going to Harvard and earning an MBA in his early 20s.[1]
Recchia was working as a business consultant at McKinsey & Company before he joined a social gaming startup called Vostu in 2010.[3] Recchia was one of the first employees.[4] He was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of Vostu in 2012 in order to facilitate a restructuring and downsizing.[3] He laid off 80 percent of the workforce (400 employees) in what Recchia said was "one of the worst days of my life."[3]
Recchia left Vostu in 2013[3] forming IguanaFix with co-founder Andres Bersnasconi,[3] who Recchia worked with at Vostu.[5] The idea for IgunanaFix was conceived of after Recchia grew frustrated looking for painters and electricians at his new home after returning to Argentina.[5][6] Recchia's work growing IguanaFix became the subject of a Harvard case study.[1][5]
