Plot
Years after a tragic shooting, the parents of both the victim and the perpetrator meet face-to-face.

Production
In November 2019, it was announced that production on the film under the direction of Fran Kranz. The film is Kranz's feature directorial debut. Also announced were lead actors Jason Isaacs, Martha Plimpton, Reed Birney and Ann Dowd.[3]
Release
The film had its world premiere at the 2021 Sundance Film Festival on January 30, 2021 in the Premieres section.[4]
Reception
The Guardian given it a 4/5 rating and said "Mass may not be a particularly enjoyable experience but itβs a strikingly effective one."[5] The Hollywood Reported mentioned film as a "harrowing watch, but a cathartic one".[6]
On review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes, 91% of 32 critics gave the film a positive review, with an average rating of 8.3/10. The critics consensus says, "Mass requires a lot of its audience, but rewards that emotional labor with a raw look at grief that establishes writer-director Fran Kranz as a filmmaker of tremendous promise."[7]
