There were hundreds who came but only 27 made it to the final cut. They are mothers, girlfriends, daughters and wives – different women from all over the Philippines who have come together to show their culinary prowess in the Knorr kitchen and bring home the title of The Ultimate Cooking Diva.
Armed with their exceptional kitchen skills and a common passion for cooking, these ladies will be seen on Knorr and ABS-CBN's Makuha Ka Sa Tikim, a weekly program that will showcase the cooking prowess of the finalists. Hosted by Jean Garcia and Eula Valdez, the show will focus on the contestants' creativity and culinary talents through a cooking showdown every Saturday at 10:30 AM.
And aside from witnessing their excellent cooking skills, viewers will get to discover their various stories and cooking anecdotes week after week. One of them learned to cook because she spent a lot of time playing bahay-bahayan with friends as a child. Another uses her delicious dishes to soothe her husband's fiery temperament. There's also a comedian from Singapore who can easily make people laugh but who's very serious when it comes to her cooking.
Meet the 27 finalists who hail from all over the archipelago: Northern Luzon bets are Stephanie Ramos and Sienna Angeli Mateo from Baguio City and Gladys Estabilo of Pangasinan. Traveling all the way from Cebu are Rowena Morados, Daisy Gazelle Mabanto and Alma Camocamo. The proud Davaoenas are Jacqueline Lacandula, Myrna Mulleno and Jennie Bulat-ag. Also in the running are Naga's finest Joannah Ramores, Cecil Estrallado and Luningning Bangot. While the best from Zamboanga are Norjamin delos Reyes, Fatima Canda and Carla Pena. And, of course, from Metro Manila are Francis Anne Rivera-Virtudazo, Gemma Aldama, Mia Martinez-Mancio, Matheen Alvarez, Spciy Susan Quimico, Cristina Oli, Cecilla Calaguas, Nomie Cruz, Emily-Lynn Puruganan, Analiza Pueblo, Vanessa Celis and Junalyn Jareno.
They are real women with real stories and real recipes. Each of them with a story to tell of how cooking with Knorr serves as their secret weapon to turn any situation to their favor. They are women who cook not just because they have to, but because they love to. Find out more about them week after week as they cook their way to the million peso grand prize of Makuha Ka Sa Tikim.
