Maarten Fontein

Maarten Fontein (born 22 February 1952, in Leiden) is the former Marketing and Commercial Director for Alkmaar Zaanstreek (AZ).

Fontein joined AZ on 1 May 2008, and is responsible for Sponsorships, International relations and affairs, and strategy.[1] Prior to joining AZ, Fontein was CEO & Managing Director for AFC Ajax from November 2005 through April 2008.[2] Prior to AFC Ajax, Fontein was employed by Unilever, holding various positions in the company's ice-cream and frozen foods divisions in The Netherlands, Australia, Sweden, Turkey, and China.
