Litter in New Zealand
Litter in New Zealand is fairly prevalent in some areas, mainly on the streets. New Zealand people are known to take pride in their 'clean green' image and disprove of any littering in their beaches, waterways, and forests. This became evident in the Litter Act which was adopted in 1979; it established the Keep New Zealand Beautiful organization.
In 2016 the Most Beautiful Town awards were separated into small, large and city categories.[1] Feilding has won the most beautiful town award 16 times.[2]
New Zealand participates in the Clean Up the World week.
