This is a list of injuries and deaths during train surfing.

In Rio de Janeiro in 1987 there were 150 people who died while train surfing and more than 400 were injured with some being permanently paralyzed.[1] In the first five months of 1988 40 people died while train surfing Rio de Janeiro.[1] In an article on train surfing published in Rio de Janeiro in 2000 it says that there had been "over 100 fatalities in more than 200 registered accidents over the past 10 years" related to train surfing.[2]
In Indonesia in 2008 there were 53 people who were killed whilst train surfing and there were 11 people killed in 2011. [3]
It was reported that "in 2012, 17 Moscow minors were injured as a result of hooking, 29 in 2013, and 48 children in 2014. In 2015, 25 cases of injuries to minors were recorded (13 of them were fatal)."[4]For 2016 in the central federal district of Russia 34 people were injured with 9 of these people dying from their injuries.[5] For the central federal district of Russia in 2011, 2 train surfers were injured, 4 in 2012, 10 in 2013, 18 in 2015 and in a roughly three month period from April to June 2016 about 25 train surfers were injured with 4 of these people dying from their injuries.[6]
In Ukraine train surfing resulted in 38 people being injured and 16 being killed in 2016 while in 2015 48 people were injured with 18 cases resulting in death.[7] In Ukraine, in October 2018 it was reported that "...last year, 12 teenagers were killed hooking, this year already two."[8]
In Germany between 1989 and 1995 there were 41 train surfing accidents. 18 of these 41 accidents resulted in the person's death and the age range was from 13 to 25.[9]
It was reported that in New York "Subway surfing was a form of thrill-seeking in the late 1980s and early '90s when several teenagers lost their lives." [10]
In the two year period from January 1990 to January 1992 three people died train surfing in Melbourne.[11]
A review of hospital records found that between January 1994 to December 2008 12 people received injuries from being electrocuted by overhead power lines while train surfing with one of these people dying.[12]
