This is a list of longest prison sentences ever given to a single person, worldwide. Listed are instances where people have been sentenced to jail terms in excess of a human lifetime. Note that many national legislations worldwide do not allow for such sentences.

In consequence, March was charged with thousands of counts of fraud, wrongful appropriation of documents (one per undelivered letter) and theft, resulting in an unprecedented request of 384,912 years in prison and a 19-million-euro (2010 value) fine by the prosecutor. However, the actual sentence imposed was 14 years and 2 months in prison and a fine of 9,000 pesetas (1972 value).[62][63] |
