In October 2020, Singh again came in headlines when one person was killed and over 25 injured in police firing in Bihar’s Munger city after violent clashes erupted between the police and a group of people over delay in the immersion ceremony of a Durga idol.[5] The Election Commission removed Singh from her office following the incident.[6] She has been moved to the state police headquarters by the Home Department, Government of Bihar.[7]

In January 2021, Singh was appointed as the SP of Saharsa district replacing Rakesh Kumar.[8][9]
