Established in 1894 as Leicester Ladies Hockey Club, the ladies side has produced a number of international players and is recognised as one of the most successful clubs in England having won six league titles. In 2018 the club launched a men’s team and now offers hockey to boys and girls, men and women from the ages of 7 upwards.

In April 2019 with the support of Leicester City Council, the club took over a city centre venue (St Margaret's Pastures) and are currently redeveloping the site so that the whole club can be based there. The club changed its name to Leicester City Hockey Club to reflect this new home.

The club has seven senior teams (five women, two men) and many junior teams offering competitive hockey from local leagues and cups up to National League levels. The club welcomes players, umpires, coaches and supporters of all ages and abilities and always tries to accommodate anyyone who would like to pick up a stick.

The club gained a Clubmark in 2017 which is accredited by England Hockey and offers a safe and supportive environment for all our players to develop and thrive as hockey players and individuals.

The ladies 1st XI play in the Women's England Hockey League. [1][2]

The rest of the ladies teams and the men's teams play in the Midlands League. [3]
