Lehigh's most notable bullet technology is the Maximum Expansion (ME); specifically the .308 caliber, 201 grain, expanding subsonic rifle bullet, which is used by several Special Operations Forces. Lehigh has produced over 6 million ME bullets for US and allied militaries. Additionally, Lehigh Defense patented Fluid Transfer Monolithic (FTM) technology.[5] On impact with a soft target the FTM "flutes" on the bullet ogive channel tissue and fluid radially from the bullet's path causing wounding similar to hollow-point bullets. The main benefit of an FTM bullet is its ability to penetrate intermediate barriers, such as windshield glass, without deforming.
Aside from solid copper bullets, Lehigh Defense is a Type 10 FFL manufacturer of Armor Piercing and Reactive Ammunition currently in service with Special Operations Forces around the world.
Lehigh Defense acquired SSK Industries in 2019, and has re-branded it SSK Firearms.[6]
