Lambert Croux
Lambert “Bertie” Croux (6 March 1927 — 8 July 2020[1]) was a Belgian politician.
As a member of the CVP party, he was among others senator (1977–1981) and Member of the European Parliament (1979–1989).[2]
Career
Croux was born in Bilzen. He was a member of the CVP party, representing which he served as a city councilor in Bilzen from 1953 to 1961. After moving to Alken, he became city councilor there. From 1961 to 1977 he was also a member of the provincial council and from 1967 to 1977 a member of the provincial council of Limburg.
Croux became a member of the Belgische Senaat between 1977 and 1981, after being directly chosen as senator for arrondissement of Hasselt-Tongeren-Maaseik.
For a short time he was a member of the Flemish Parliament between October 1980 and November 1981.
For ten years, between 1979 and 1989, he was a member of the European Parliament. He was party leader in 1984.
