Krøkebærsletta
Krøkebærsletta was a Nazi concentration camp near the town of Tromsø in Norway, in use from November 1942 to the end of the occupation of Norway by Nazi Germany in 1945. The camp was built as a replacement for Sydspissen concentration camp, across the sound. It was primarily a transit camp for prisoners on their way to Falstad, Grini or camps in Germany. It is estimated that at least 2000 prisoners passed through the camp.[1]
A memorial marker was erected to commemorate the camp. It is located outside Tromstun School in Tomasjord, Norway, which was built on the site of the camp itself.[2]
