Kantetsu Green Bus

The Kantetsu Green Bus Co., Ltd. (関鉄グリーンバス株式会社, Kantegu Gurīn Basu Kabushiki-gaisha) is a bus company within the Keisei Group which was established on 15 March 2002 to inherit all business of the Kanto Railway bus department.

Outline

As part of the business efficiency, Hokota office of Kanto Railway was split into Kantetsu Melon Bus in 2001,which is now this company. And in 2002, Kanto Railway established Kantetsu Green Bus as subsidiary in the Ishioka area. Service areas which the company has is based in Ishioka and a part of routes run to Tsuchiura, besides in 2005 Kantetsu Green Bus consolidated Kantetsu Melon Bus, so the company has had service area in the Hokota. In addition, the company has covered 「Kashitetsu Bus」, which substituted Kashima Railway that was taken out of service, since 2007. Service areas of the company have many tourist resources which are Ibaraki Airport, Kairakuen and so on.[1]

  • 1 June 2001 - split into Kantetsu Melon Bus from Hokota office
  • 30 September - transferred a part of routes that had belonged to Kanshima Office of Kanto Railway to Kantetsu Melon Bus.
  • 15 March 2002 - established Kantetsu Green Bus
  • 1 July - transferred a part of routes that had belong to Kakioka and Ishioka Office of Kanto Railway to Kantetsu Green Bus.
  • 2005 - consolidated Kantetsu Green Bus and abolished Kantetsu Melon Bus
  • 2007 - As Kashima Railway was taken out of service, started running Kashitetsu Bus
  • 11 March 2010 - started running Airport Bus for Ibaraki Airport
  • 1 June 2012 - started running Kasumigaura Koiki Bus between Tsuchiura Station and Tamatsukuri Station
  • 21 May 2016 - started runnning Koiki Renkei Bus in the NamegataItakoKashima areas[2]
  • 1 September - installed 東口BRTバスターミナル East Exit BRT Bus Terminal
  • 16 March 2018 - introduced Suica and PASMO and others into all bus routes.[3]
  • 28 April - the company has introduced IC 1 dairy Pass Ticket into almost bus routes of Kanto Railway Group,available on the ticket at 710 yen. Scope of application is stage carriage bus eliminate Community buses and Highway buses and Tsukubasan Shuttle Bus from it.[4]
