Kanayo O. Kanayo
Anayo Modestus Onyekwere[1][2] (popularly known as Kanayo O. Kanayo, born March 1, 1962 in Mbaise, Imo State, Nigeria)[3] is a Nigerian actor and lawyer. In 2006 he won the African Movie Academy Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role for his performance in the movie "Family Battle".[4]

In 1992, Kanayo made his debut movie appearance in the film Living in Bondage.[5] Kanayo has starred in over 100 films. He was nominated in 2008 for African Movie Academy Award for Best Actor in the movie "Across the Niger".[5] His most recent movies are Up North and Living in Bondage: Breaking Free[6]
He is currently a United Nations ambassador and bears the title of MFR.[7] Kanayo was among various Nigerians honored by the government in 2014 during the centenary celebration.[8]
Kanayo enrolled with the University of Abuja and in 2019 graduated with a Law degree before proceeding to the Nigerian Law School Abuja campus. In 2020, Kanayo was called to the bar. [9]
