KK ZM Maribor Lumar

Košarkarski klub ZM Lumar Maribor was a professional basketball team based in Maribor, Slovenia. The club was competing in Slovenian Basketball League during the 1990s and early 2000s and played in European basketball competitions such as Saporta Cup and FIBA Korać Cup.

History

Team was founded under the name KK Miklavž in 1992.[1] Team's debut in international competitions was in 1993-94 FIBA Korać Cup, when team eliminated TTL Bamberg in the first round. In 1994 club changed name to Bavaria Wolltex due to sponsorship reasons.[2] After that, team played in 1995–96 and 1997–98 FIBA Korać Cup, but most successful was the 1996–97 FIBA EuroCup season, when team got to the Round of 32 (was eliminated by Fenerbahçe). In 1998, club changed name to ZM Lumar Maribor[3] and in 1999 club merged with Branik Maribor.[4]

In 2005, KK ZM Lumar Maribor was dissolved due to financial difficulties.[5]
