Jonathan Harris (barrister)
Professor Jonathan Harris, QC is a British barrister and internationally renowned[1] legal scholar.[2][3] He works as a barrister at Serle Court Chambers.[4] He specializes in cross-border, commercial and chancery matters (including jurisdiction, enforcement of judgments and choice of law). He has appeared in the Supreme Court and the Privy Council in a number of high-profile cases.[5] He has also drafted legislation for a number of jurisdictions.[5]
He is the joint general editor of the leading work in the field of private international law, Dicey, Morris and Collins,.[6][7] He is also the author of The Hague Trusts Convention[8] and co-author of International Sale of Goods in the Conflict of Laws.[9] He is also the co-editor of the Journal of Private International Law[10] and Oxford Private International Law Series.[11]
Jonathan Harris QC is also Professor of International Commercial Law at the Dickson Poon School of Law at King's College London.[2][12] He is also a senior research fellow at Jesus College, Oxford[11] and at the Commercial Law Centre, University of Oxford.[13] Jonathan Harris was educated at Jesus College, Oxford.[14]
He has been a Visiting Professorial Fellow at the University of New South Wales, Australia and Visiting Professor at the National University of Singapore.[15]
Jonathan Harris is a member of the Lord Chancellor's Advisory Committee on Private International Law.[11]
