Jonas Sultan

Jonas Sultan (born 16 December 1991) is a Filipino professional boxer. He held the IBF Inter-continental junior bantamweight title since December 2016 by beating South Africa's Makazole Tete. As of December 2017, he is ranked as the tenth-best junior bantamweight in the world by The Ring,[1] and eighth by BoxRec.[2] Sultan is promoted by ALA Promotions of Cebu City, who promotes boxing world champions with the likes of Donnie Nietes and Milan Melindo.[3]

Professional career

Jonas Sultan made his professional debut in February 2013 against Glenn Campaner in the Bantamweight Division, which Sultan won on a Unanimous Decision. On February 27, 2016, Sultan goes to Japan to challenge Tatsuya Ikemisu and won by TKO in round 2. On the same year also, Jonas Sultan conquered South Africa by challenging and winning by TKO on round 2 against South African super flyweight prospect Makazole Tete, then the IBF Inter-continental Super Flyweight champion and former IBO Inter-continental Super Flyweight champion.[4]
