Johnny's West
Johnny's West (ジャニーズWEST, Janīzu Uesuto) (stylized Johnny's WEST) is a seven-member Japanese boyband consisting of Daiki Shigeoka, Junta Nakama, Takahiro Hamada, Aikito Kiriyama, Tomohiro Kamiyama, Ryusei Fujii, and Nozomu Kotaki. The group's name comes from the fact that it originated within the Johnny's Entertainment talent agency, and that the members are from Kansai, the west region of Japan. They are the first group from Kansai Johnny's Jr. that has debuted in ten years, the last being Kanjani Eight. Debuting in 2014 with the single "Eejanaika", they sing mainly in the Kansai dialect. Their single Start Dash, and Kizudarake no Ai will become first and second opening single from Captain Tsubasa (2018) by David Production.

History
The group's debut was announced at the 2013-2014 Johnny's Countdown at New Year,[1] and the debut single "Eejanaika" was to be released on April 23, 2014.
The name was supposed to be Johnny's WEST4, and the original members were Daiki Shigeoka, Akito Kiriyama, Junta Nakama and Nozomu Kotaki, however they later found that having the number "4" in their name was inappropriate due to the Japanese superstition that the number is unlucky. The 4 members used this chance to ask Johnny Kitagawa, the president of the agency, to add 3 more members to the group, namely, Ryusei Fujii, Tomohiro Kamiyama and Takahiro Hamada, and the name was changed to Johnny's WEST.[2]
Their song "Gyakuten Winner" (逆転Winner, Turnabout Winner) was used as the opening of the Ace Attorney anime.[3]
In late 2017, the group starred in a Netflix drama titled Blazing Transfer Students loosely based upon the manga of the same name.[4]
