John Smith (cricketer, born 1834)
John Smith (12 July 1834 – date of death unknown) was an English cricketer. Smith's batting style is unknown. He was born at Gotham, Nottinghamshire.

Smith his first-class debut for Nottinghamshire against Cambridgeshire in 1862 at Fenner's. He made two further first-class appearances in that season, one for Nottinghamshire against Surrey at The Oval, and another for an All-England Eleven against Yorkshire at Shaw Lane, Barnsley. The following season he made a further first-class appearance for Nottinghamshire against the newly formed Yorkshire County Cricket Club.[1] In three first-class appearances for Nottinghamshire, Smith scored a total of 36 runs at an average of 7.20, with a high score of 19.[2]
