John Burton (conservationist)

John Burton (born 1944) is a British conservationist and nature author.

Burton was chief executive of the World Land Trust for 30 years. He held that position until 2019.[1]

Burton was a regular columnist for the New Scientist and an Assistant Editor of Animals magazine (now BBC Wildlife Magazine).[2]

Burton believes that veganism is not realistic from a conservationist view, but advocates for reduced meat and dairy. He describes himself as a "largely vegetarian omnivore".[3]
