Jody Kollapen
Jody Kollapen is a Judge of the High Court of South Africa. He had previously served as the commissioner of the South African Human Rights Commission. Prior to joining the Commission in 1996, Kollapen practised as an attorney, and was a member of Lawyers for Human Rights for five years. He coordinated the "release political prisoners" program. He has worked on important cases such as Sharpeville Six, the Delmas Treason Trial, and the failure of the Medical and Dental Council to enquire into the behaviour of the doctors who treated Steve Biko.[1]
Kollapen had previously served as an extraordinary lecturer in the Centre for Human Rights at the University of Pretoria.[2]
