Jim Panther

James Edward Panther (born March 1, 1945) is a former Major League Baseball pitcher. He spent his college career at Southern Illinois University Carbondale where he was a member of Sigma Pi fraternity.[1] He pitched three seasons in the majors for three teams: 1971 for the Oakland Athletics, 1972 for the Texas Rangers, and 1973 for the Atlanta Braves.[2][3] He was traded from the Texas Rangers to the Atlanta Braves for Rico Carty on October 27, 1972.[4]
