Jikke Gaastra was the first female in 1912 who ever started the tour, but she didn’t finish.[2] Afterwards, Van der Weg received an official ceremony at the municipal theater De Harmonie in Leeuwarden.
In the Amsterdam borough Amsterdam-West was a street named after here in 2016, the “Janna van der Weglaan”.[3]
Van der Weg worked as a house servant (in Dutch: dienstmeisje).
