Jamia Faridia

The Al Faridia University (Urdu: جامعه فریدیه‎) is a madrassa near the Faisal Mosque in Islamabad, the seminary was established in 1977 by Maulana Abdullah Ghazi, who remained Chancellor until he assassinated by unknown gunmen in October 1998, and as of 2020 the seminary has 1,200 students and more than 60 teachers.[1]

History

The seminary was founded in 1977 by Maulana Abdullah Ghazi, who remained chancellor until he was assassinated in the courtyard of Lal Masjid by unknown gunmen in October 1998[2]

Maulana Abdul Aziz then became the new chancellor and appointed his younger brother Maulana Abdul Rashid Ghazi as vice chancellor and under his leadership, the seminary began offering Classes in English, science computers, as well as Qur'an, Ghazi himself is said to have taught history and philosophy[3]
