James Green (bishop)
James Patrick Green (born 30 May 1950) is an American prelate of the Catholic Church who has been Apostolic Nuncio to several Scandinavian countries since 2017.

Early years
Green was born on 30 May 1950 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He studied for the priesthood and was ordained a priest of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia on 15 May 1976.[1] During his early years in the diplomatic service of the Holy See, he served in Papua New Guinea, Korea, the Netherlands, Spain, and Denmark. He then spent a year in Taiwan as chargé d'affaires and then worked in Rome beginning in late 2002.
Apostolic Nuncio
On 17 August 2006, Pope Benedict XVI appointed Green Titular Archbishop of Altinum and Apostolic Nuncio to South Africa and Namibia, and Apostolic Delegate to Botswana.[1][2]
He was consecrated bishop on 6 September 2006 by Cardinal Secretary of State Angelo Sodano.[3] Also on 6 September he was appointed Apostolic Delegate to Lesotho,[4] and on 23 September 2006 he was appointed Apostolic Delegate to Swaziland.[5][6]
On 15 October 2011, Green was appointed Apostolic Nuncio to Peru.[7][8]
On 6 April 2017 Green was appointed Apostolic Nuncio to Sweden and to Iceland;[9] on 13 June to Denmark;[10] on 12 October to Finland;[11] and on 18 October to Norway.[12]
