James Feddeck
James Feddeck (born 1984,[1] New York City) is an American conductor.
As a youth, Feddeck learned the piano.[2] From 2001 to 2006, Feddeck studied oboe, organ, and piano at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music.[3][1] He earned a BA degree from Oberlin in 2005, and stayed for an additional year for graduate studies. He was the first recipient of the Outstanding Young Alumni Award from Oberlin.[4] At the Aspen Music Festival, Feddeck was a conducting fellow from 2006 to 2008, and assistant conductor for the 2009 season.[3]
From 2009 to 2013, Feddeck was assistant conductor of The Cleveland Orchestra and music director of the Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra.[5] In 2009, the Solti Foundation U.S. awarded Feddeck a career assistance grant,[6] and in 2013, awarded him its highest honour, the Sir Georg Solti Conducting Award.[7]
In 2020, Feddeck became principal conductor of the Orchestra i Pomeriggi Musicali, his first leadership post.
