J.H. Owusu Acheampong
J.H. Owusu Acheampong (born 1941) is a Ghanaian politician and a member of the 2nd parliament of the 4th republic of Ghana representing Berekum Constituency under the membership of the National Democratic Congress.[1]

Early life
Acheampong was born in the Brong-Ahafo Region of Ghana. He obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. He then proceeded to further his studies in London where he obtained his Master of Science degree in Agricultural Economics from the University of London.[2]
Political career
Acheampong was elected into the first parliament of the fourth republic of Ghana on 7 January 1993 after he was pronounced winner at the 1992 Ghanaian parliamentary election held on 29 December 1992.
He was therefore re-elected into the second parliament of the fourth republic of Ghana on 7 January 1997 after he emerged winner at the 1996 Ghanaian General Elections. He defeated Michael Kojo Adusah of the New Patriotic Party by obtaining 41.30% of the total votes cast while his opposition obtained 28.70%. After representing his constituency for a term, Acheampong decided not to run for a second term and handed over to John Atta Mills who lost to John Agyekum Kuffour of the NPP by 28.70%.
Personal life
Acheampong died on 13 June 2017.[3]
