Ivrea Castle

Ivrea Castle is a castle located at Piazza Castello in the Ivrea region in Italy. It was built on behalf of Amédée VI of Savoy in 1358. It was built to signify the dominance of Savoys over the region. The castle has four towers erected on a plan flank. In 18th century, it was converted to a prison and was again used as a castle in 1970. It also has a cathedral and a bishop's palace. The castle finds it mentioned in work of poet Giosuè Carducci.[1][2][3]
