Irina Kuznetsova

Irina Kuznetsova also written as Irina Kuzneczova (Russian: Ирина Кузнецова; born 11 July 1998) is a Russian long track speed skater representing Russia at international competitions.[2] She is a sprinter, specialized in the 500 metres and 1000 metres.

Career

Junior

Ás a junior Kuznetsova became twice national champion in 2018 (1000m and team pursuit). She won at ISU Junior World Cup Speed Skating two silver and a bronze medal in the team sprint event and competed at the 2017 World Junior Speed Skating Championships and 2018 World Junior Speed Skating Championships.

Senior

Kuznetsova made her World Cup debut during the 2018-19 ISU Speed Skating World Cup season in December 2018 in Tomaszów Mazowiecki, Poland, in the 1000 metres and 500 metres events in the B-division. A week later she started in the 500 metres in the next World Cup in Heerenveen, the Netherlands, in the 500 metres.

During the 2019-20 ISU Speed Skating World Cup she won in the team sprint event the silver medal at the World Cup 1 in Minsk and World Cup 3 in Nur Sultan[3] She competed at the 2019 European Speed Skating Championships, finishing 7th overall.[3]

She won the bronze medal at the 2019 Russian Sprint Championships. She became national champion in the team sprint in 2019 and 2020 and national champion in the team pursuit in 2020.[3]
