Information Card Foundation
In June 2008 an independent non-profit organization, Information Card Foundation (ICF), was created. The ICF consists of Steering Community board members and Steering Business board members.[1] Some of the businesses include Equifax, Google, Microsoft, Novell, Oracle Corporation and PayPal. The foundation created the Information Card, which is a digital identification card to prove who you are.[2] The purpose of the Information Card is to supply certified proof of who you are to online merchants or businesses, and to aid in identity protection for the user.[3]
