Early career
A product of Pepsi Football Academy in Nigeria, Ibrahim Madaki started his professional football playing for clubs in Nigeria before moving to Malaysia.
In 1992, Ibrahim was called up by the Nigeria national U-13 squad, but he was unable to win a cap. However he earned a place in the Youth Sport Federation of Nigeria developmental squad.[1]
In 2003, he got his first professional contract playing for his local club, Cosmos United in Nigeria Nationwide League. Two seasons later, he moved to Court of Appeal FC[2] in the same league where he played for another two seasons, before his career stopped abruptly due to serious injury to his knee.
Ibrahim managed to recover from his injury and two years later, he won a 1-year contract offer from Niger Premier League side, Espoir FC.
Career in Malaysia
As a player
In 2011, Ibrahim joined the now-defunct Nouvelles Visage FC,[3] in KLFA Division 1 League. Nouvelles Visage FC got promoted to the third tier of Malaysian football league, FAM Cup, but the management decided not to pursue the promotion due to lack of interest from the club owner. Ibrahim stayed until 2013, the same year Nouvelles Visage FC deformed as a football club.
In 2014, Ibrahim got a 2-year contract from another KLFA Division 1 League outfit, NS Chempaka who was just relegated from FAM Cup in the previous year.
After his contract with NS Chempaka finished, Ibrahim then moved to another KLFA Division 1 League, KL City FC. He played there for a season before he retired to pursue a coaching career.
As a coach
Ibrahim, an AFC/FAM Pre-C Coaching license holder, started his coaching career at international schools in Kuala Lumpur. He got involved in coaching Everton Boys Academy, a grassroots-level academy in Kuala Lumpur formed by the Premier League side, Everton.
In September 2016, Shah Alam Antlers announced Ibrahim's appointment as the club's assistant head coach.[4] With Shah Alam Antlers, Ibrahim helped the club to win 2016/2017 Klang Valley Super League title.[5]
On mid-2019, he was appointed as the head coach of Shah Alam Antlers ahead of M4 League 2019 campaign.
