Hyposmocoma montivolans

Hyposmocoma montivolans is a species of moth of the family Cosmopterigidae. It was first described by Arthur Gardiner Butler in 1882. It is endemic to the Hawaiian island of Oahu. The type locality is the mountains near Honolulu.

The larvae probably feed on lichen on rocks. They live in a silk-lined accumulation of frass. The case is slightly pointed toward its anal extremity, the opening at the anterior end being large and straight.
