House of Refuge
House of Refuge (New House of Refuge Hospital) was an institute in St. Louis, Missouri, that cared for young boys and girls and gave them a home where there was support, education, and discipline that taught them to take care of themselves.[1] It was thought that this institute was used as the New House of Refuge Hospital during the American Civil War.[2]
