Hisae Iwaoka
Hisae Iwaoka (岩岡ヒサエ, born 17 July 1976, Chiba Prefecture) is a Japanese manga artist. Her work includes the one-shot manga Hana Boro[1] (Flower Cookies) and Shiroi Kumo (White Clouds) (a jury-recommended work in the 2005 Japan Media Arts Festival[2]) Yume no Soko, (a jury-recommended work in the 2006 Japan Media Arts Festival[3]) Hoshigahara Aomanjuu no Mori, (a jury-recommended work in the 2010 Japan Media Arts Festival[4]) Saturn Apartments, published by Shogakukan and licensed in English by Viz Media,[5] and Hoshi ga Hara Ao Manjū no Mori, which ran in Nemuki Plus from August 2008 to February 2014.[6]
Some of her work was included in the 2004 Takashi Murakami exhibition "Tokyo Girls Bravo" at the Marianne Boesky Gallery, where her artwork was compared to that of A. A. Milne.[7][8]
