History
Happiest Minds was founded In April 2011 by Ashok Soota, Aurobinda Nanda, Dattatreya Salagame, Joseph Anantaraju, Puneet Jetli, Raja Sekher, Raja Shanmugam and Salil Godika.[6][7][8] The company received $45 million Series-A funding In November 2011. The investors were JP Morgan Asset Management, Intel Capital and Ashok Soota.[9]
They opened their first office in Reading, UK as part of expansion in March, 2012.[10] At present they have offices in India (Bangalore, Noida and Pune), US, UK, Singapore and Australia with more than 170 plus customers globally.[11][12][13]
Products and services
The company provides digital transformation services through technologies such as internet of things, cloud, unified communications, big data analytics, robotic process automation, mobility and security.[14][15]
They apply product engineering, IPs and functional skill in IT services and Infrastructure Management and Security services to companies in e-learning, e-commerce, insurance, banking, manufacturing, retail, travel and automotive domains.[16][17]
Partnerships
In August 2012, they have partnered with California-based mobile engagement company July Systems.[18]
Later In May 2013, the company partnered with Florida-based enterprise mobile platform company, KidoZen. Towards the end In the same year In December 2013, the company partnered with India's DataWind, a wireless web access products and services provider.[19][20]
In September 2014, they collaborated with the New York-based database firm, MongoDB.[21][22] During the same month the company partnered with XchangeLabs, a pharmacy automation company based out of Texas.[23] Towards the end of the year in December 2014, they collaborated with Mastercard's Quest to enable development of futuristic payment applications.[24]
In August 2015, they collaborated with Openbravo, a Spanish open-source software firm.[25][26][27]
In January 2016, they joined Industrial Internet Consortium (IIC).[28]
In May 2017, Happiest Minds acquired Cupola Technologies, an Internet of things based startup and in June 2017, the company acquired the U.S. based digital transformation company OSSCube.[29][30][31][32][33]
Public offering
Happiest Minds launched its IPO in September 2020 with an offer for sale of 3,56,63,585 equity shares by promoter Ashok Soota and JP Morgan-backed private equity fund.[34][35] The IPO price range was between ₹165 and ₹166; the issue was subscribed 151 times. The shares of the company were listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange and National Stock Exchange of India on 17 September 2020 at an opening price of ₹351, a 111 percent premium over the issue price.[36]
