Gordon Cottington
Gordon Stanley Cottington (2 April 1911 – 7 June 1996) was a Scottish rugby union and professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1930s and 1940s. He played representative level rugby union (RU) for Scotland (Heritage № 504), and at club level for Kelso RFC,[3] as a hooker, i.e. number 2,[2] and club level rugby league (RL) for Castleford,[4] as a hooker, i.e. number 9.

Background
Gordon Cottington was born in Kelso, Scottish Borders. He died aged 85 in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England.
Playing career
International honours
Gordon Cottington won caps for Scotland (RU) in 1934 against Ireland, and England, in 1935 against Wales, and Ireland, and in 1936 against England.[2]
County League appearances
Gordon Cottington played in Castleford's victory in the Yorkshire County League during the 1938–39 season.[5]

Gordon Cottington married a Miss Robertson, they had children; Sylvia M. Cottington (birth registered second ¼ 1939 (age 81–82) in Leeds district), and Conryn E. Cottington (birth registered second ¼ 1943 (age 77–78) in Leeds district)
