Geoffrey Toynbee
Captain Geoffrey Percy Robert Toynbee (18 May 1885 – 15 November 1914) was an English first-class cricketer. Toynbee was a right-handed batsman.

Toynbee was educated at Winchester College, where he represented the college in cricket matches. Later Toynbee attended the Royal Military College, Sandhurst, where he was one of the most prolific batsman for the Academy, averaging 70.71 in 1904 and 42.33 in 1905.
In 1911 Toynbee played for the Green Jackets against Aldershot Command, where he hit scores of 115 and 101*.
Toynbee made his first-class debut for the Marylebone Cricket Club in 1912 against Kent. This was Toynbee's only appearance for the club.
Toynbee also represented Hampshire in two first-class matches in the 1912 County Championship, making his debut against Gloucestershire and playing his final first-class match against Sussex.
Toynbee fought in the First World War, serving in the Rifle Brigade as a Captain. On 15 November 1914 Toynbee was killed in action at Ploegstraete, Nord-Pas-de-Calais in France.
