Gambusia dominicensis

Gambusia dominicensis, known as the Dominican gambusia,[1] domingo gambusia,[2] or domingo mosquito fish,[3] is a species of freshwater fish native to two lakes on the island of Hispaniola: Lake Enriquillo (in the Dominican Republic) and Etang Saumatre (in both the Dominican Republic and Haiti. It is a member of the family Poeciliidae of order Cyprinodontiformes. It is in the aquarium trade and has been introduced to other bodies of water for mosquito control.[4]
