Arts at the G-Star High School

The school has 110,000 sq. ft. under roof in its motion picture complex with 13 buildings on property. Students produce 400 to 500 film shorts per year. As a mid-year project, students produce a feature film which is then submitted to film festivals nationally and internationally. Done as a professional film with budgets and deadlines, the project involves every aspect of the school. Open auditions are held for every position, from directors, writers and actors to camera crew, lighting, sound, grips and set designers. G-Star's Theater Department wins top Superior and Critic's Choice awards each year at the Florida State competitions in Tampa and many students receive Acting and Technical scholarships. All teachers in the Animation Department are members of the Visual Effects Society, have industry experience and have worked for 20th Century Fox, Warner Bros. Games, Rock Star, and on films such as Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and traveled the world working for Polo TV. All of the Arts programs are on a collegiate level. In addition, G-Star teaches prosthetic makeup design & application and set design & construction in an after school program. In September 2018 G-Star Studios announced the new College of Cinematic Arts Keiser University opened on G-Star Studios' back lot and the Keiser University Flagship Campus in West Palm Beach, Florida.
