History

Farmflo was founded by brothers Jason Devenney, a software developer, and Gareth Devenney, a fourth generation farmer in 2012.[1]

The company began trading commercially in February 2015 with the launch of their eponymous app [2] following approval from Ireland's Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine.[3]

Farmflo was dubbed "one of Ireland's hottest start-ups" by the Irish Independent in March 2015.[4]

Farmflo was featured on Ireland's national broadcaster RTÉ's flashship magazine programme, Nationwide (Irish TV series) in February 2016.[5]

Farmflo is based in Letterkenny, Donegal at the Letterkenny Institute of Technology. It also has offices in Glasgow, Scotland.[6]

Microsoft Ventures

In October 2015 Farmflo was selected to join the Microsoft Ventures Accelerate Programme in London.[7][8] As part of the programme, Farmflo received one-on-one mentoring from Microsoft‘s business, technology and marketing experts.

Farmflo received an investment of £500,000 (approximately €675,000) from Microsoft, which it will use to create 60 new jobs over the next three years.[9]
