Khalid was born at Banbury, where he was educated at Banbury School. From there he went up to Oxford Brookes University.[1] While studying at Oxford Brookes he made a single appearance in first-class cricket for Oxford UCCE against Worcestershire at Oxford in 2009.[2] He later played minor counties cricket for Oxfordshire, making a single appearance in the 2014 Minor Counties Championship.[3]
