Faculty of Computer and Information Science, Ljubljana
The Faculty of Computer and Information Science (Slovene: Fakulteta za računalništvo in informatiko, also known by the acronym FRI UL) in Ljubljana is part of the University of Ljubljana and was founded in 1996.[1]

The study of computer science at the University of Ljubljana began already in 1973, first as an elective study programme after the 2nd year of electrical engineering study, and since 1982 as an independent study programme. In 1996 the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science split into two separate faculties and in 2014 the Faculty of Computer and Information Science finally moved to a new building at the western outskirts of Ljubljana.
The Faculty offers undergraduate, master's and doctoral programmes, including interdisciplinary programmes in cooperation with other faculties and universities.
Research at the Faculty of Computer and Information Science in Ljubljana is focused in the following areas:
- Machine learning and Artificial Intelligence,
- Data science,
- Theoretical computer science and Numerical analysis,
- Software engineering and Informatics,
- Computer architecture and Computer networking,
- Machine perception and Multimedia.
