Envigo was created in September 2015 through the integration of Huntingdon Life Sciences, Harlan Laboratories, GFA, NDA Analytics and LSR associates. Its name was selected even though there were many businesses, such as Envigo Digital, which were in business in 2015. At inception, Envigo employed 3,800 people.[3]

Company

Envigo's Teklad business unit provides both high-fat and control diets mostly used in the research of impact of obesity and nutrition on disease states like diabetes, cancer and heart disease.[4]

Three of Envigo’s breeding sites have been accredited by the Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care (AAALAC) International Council including Horst, the Netherlands (March 29, 2016),[5] Bresso, Italy, and Wyton, United Kingdom (July 19, 2016).[6]
